Isla Blanca is a peninsula or sandy coastal strip approximately twenty kilometers of length at its widest part 850 meters and its narrowest 500 meters. Its maximum 5 meters above sea level. Located at the northern most part of the Mesoamerican Reef System which is 1500 m from its east coast. The sand is white, with extreme weather conditions of wind and tide during a hurricane during which the sea manages to cross from side to side at the narrowest part of White Island, hence its name.
