About us: A Journey Beyond Borders
Since 2015, we’ve been exploring Mexico in a way that goes beyond the typical tourist experience. What started as a two-week camping excursion through Baja California—powered by our beloved Jeep—soon evolved into something much bigger. From the vibrant streets of Mexico City to the cultural heart of Oaxaca, the historic charm of Guanajuato, and the breathtaking landscapes of the Yucatán, we’ve embraced the beauty and diversity of this country with open hearts.
At some point, we asked ourselves: Why not make this our life? So, we took the plunge—shedding the things that tied us down, storing away the sentimental, and setting out in search of a place to call home. (Still working on convincing Mayra about that last part!)
Along the way, the idea of a travel blog took shape. Yes, we know—another travel blog! But this one is different. It’s not just about destinations; it’s about the journey, the people we meet, the lessons we learn, and the stories we carry with us. It’s about finding meaning in movement and embracing the unknown.
This is our first attempt at web design from start to finish, and we hope you find our stories worth reading, sharing, and maybe even inspiring your own adventure.

Hello travelers, I was born in Mexico and immigrated with my parents to the United States at the young age of four. I attended school (K-12) in the City of Burbank, California. Soon after graduating high school in 1991, I started working with an organization that took me to different places around the world. After retiring in 2012, I decided it was a good time to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and I am currently working on my Masters in Business Administration.
